How to pay for ChatGPT Plus with crypto or USDT

If your money is in USDT, or your local card keeps failing on the ChatGPT checkout, you can still get ChatGPT Plus on your own account. The ChatGPT checkout takes cards and, in some countries, local payment methods. It does not show a crypto option. So the practical way to pay for ChatGPT Plus with crypto is to pay someone in USDT who then pays the checkout with a card. This page explains how that works with us, step by step, which networks cost least to send on, and what happens each month.

Why you can't pay OpenAI in USDT directly

OpenAI's help centre says credit and debit cards are accepted in all countries, and lists a few local methods where they exist: UPI in India, Pix in Brazil, GoPay in Indonesia, Kakao Pay, Naver Pay and local cards in Korea, and Link bank debit in the UK and EEA. Crypto is not on that list. The checkout itself runs on Stripe and charges ChatGPT Plus at $20 a month in the U.S. before tax.

A card that spends crypto is the obvious workaround, but it is the type of card that fails most often. Forum users report prepaid Mastercards, Wirex cards and gift Visa cards being declined on ChatGPT, and Stripe lets any merchant write rules on card_funding: “Whether the card is a prepaid, debit, or credit card.” We don't know OpenAI's rules, but if your crypto card is refused you will see only a short message. Our “Your card has been declined” guide goes through the card side in detail.

How it works with us

You pay us in USDT or another coin. Our person in the U.S. pays the ChatGPT checkout link you send, with a U.S. card. The plan runs on your own account, with your chats and settings untouched.

  1. Open the upgrade on your account. Sign in to ChatGPT, choose Plus and open the payment page. Copy its address from the browser bar: that is your checkout link. Don't enter a card. If you can't get a link, order anyway and we'll tell you how by email.
  2. Place the order. Open the ChatGPT Plus order page, paste the link and give the email where you want the confirmation.
  3. Pay the quote. The checkout shows one total in dollars and the amount in the coin you pick. The quote is fixed for 30 minutes. USDT on Tron is the quick pick.
  4. We pay your link. Once your transfer has the confirmations its network needs, the order goes into our queue. We pay usually within 2 hours of payment confirmation, between 09:00 and 21:00 UTC, and at most 24 hours. You get an email when your plan is paid.

Stripe checkout links expire: by default a Checkout Session lasts 24 hours from creation, and Stripe allows it to be set as short as 30 minutes. Send the link when you place the order. If it runs out before we pay it, we will ask you for a fresh one. The full flow, with order statuses, is on how it works.

Which networks are cheapest

Stablecoins count 1:1 with the dollar, so the USDT amount equals the dollar total. Your cost on top of that is the fee to send, and it depends far more on the network than on the coin.

USDT networkConfirmations we wait forCost to send
Tron (TRC-20)20Usually low; the default on our checkout
Solana (SPL)32Usually very low
TON16Usually low
BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20)15Usually low
Polygon128Usually low
Ethereum (ERC-20)12Usually the highest

Network fees change with traffic, so treat the last column as a rule of thumb, not a price. Three things matter more in practice:

  • Exchange withdrawal fees. If your USDT sits on an exchange, the exchange sets its own withdrawal fee per network, and it is often higher than the network's real cost. Compare the networks your exchange offers before you pick one.
  • The amount that arrives. Many exchanges take the fee out of the amount you send. The amount reaching our address must be the full quoted amount. A shortfall of up to 1% is accepted; if more is missing, we email you the remaining amount and the order goes ahead once it arrives.
  • The right network. Every network has its own address. Sending USDT on a network other than the one in your quote can lose the funds.

We also take USDC, BTC, ETH, SOL, TON, LTC and more; for coins other than stablecoins, the quote converts the dollar total at the rate when you open the checkout. The full list is on paying in crypto.

What happens next month

ChatGPT Plus with us is paid one month per order. To keep Plus next month, place a new order and send a fresh checkout link. Each renewal is a new order.

Our card stays on your subscription until you change it. You can switch to your own card or cancel at any time in your ChatGPT settings. If your own card starts working later, for example after your bank lifts a block, you can simply stop ordering from us.

What it costs, and what you get

  • Total: $23.00 for one month of ChatGPT Plus. That is the plan price plus our 15% fee, shown as one number. The network fee for your transfer is separate.
  • What you get: Plus on your own ChatGPT account and a confirmation email. No password changes hands.
  • Refund: If we can't complete the payment for your plan, we refund the full amount you paid, in the same coin, minus only the network fee of the refund transfer.
  • Not sold: API credits and ChatGPT Business seats.

Need the bigger plan? ChatGPT Pro works the same way, for one month at $230.00. If your card was refused on a Pro charge, see ChatGPT Pro payment declined.

Try your own card first

If you have a bank card at all, it is cheaper to make it work than to pay any fee. Turn on international online payments in your bank app, approve the 3D Secure request when it appears, and look for a local method on the checkout. Our “Payment was not approved” guide lists the fixes in order. Don't use a VPN or a foreign address to get a different checkout: OpenAI's help centre says paying with a payment method from an unsupported country, or using ChatGPT from one, can get an account blocked.

Questions

Can I pay OpenAI in crypto directly?

Not as far as OpenAI's help centre shows. It lists credit and debit cards and, in some countries, local methods such as UPI, Pix or GoPay. Crypto is not on that list, so paying in USDT means paying someone who then pays the checkout for you.

Which USDT network is cheapest to send?

Tron (TRC-20) is the default on our checkout and usually costs little to send. Solana, TON, BNB Smart Chain and Polygon are usually cheap too. Ethereum (ERC-20) is usually the most expensive. Your exchange's withdrawal fee can matter more than the network fee, so compare it before you send.

Does my ChatGPT Plus renew automatically?

We pay one month per order. To keep Plus next month, place a new order with a fresh checkout link. Our card stays on your subscription until you change it in your ChatGPT settings.

Do you need my ChatGPT password?

No. You send the checkout link from your own account, and we pay it. The plan appears on your account as if you had paid it yourself.

When do I get a refund?

If we can't complete the payment for your plan, we refund the full amount you paid, in the same coin, minus only the network fee of the refund transfer.
